Service Description

After thousands of years of erosion, many rock pools have formed near the great Victoria Falls and one of them is right on the very edge! Devil’s Pool – with a steep precipice and an up-close-and-personal view of the sheer drop off the side of the Falls – is indeed the ultimate infinity pool! It takes a rocky walk and swims in the Zambezi to reach the pool before slipping into the adrenalin-pumping swimming hole. Those fearless enough to leap into the pool get pushed to the edge by the force of the river, with the rock lip bringing them to a halt as the raging waters of the Zambezi crash over the nearby cliffs. The view from the edge is exhilarating as you feel the force of the Zambezi River flowing past you and crashing down over the 100-meter / 320-foot drop! The over 500 million liters / 132 million gallons of water that cascade over the Falls every minute are not to be messed with, so this activity is only open at certain times of the year and must be booked with a guide. This thrilling experience is highly dependent on water levels, which vary throughout the year. Seasonal Availability, Dry season (Mid-August to Mid-January): This is when the water levels are low enough to safely access Devil’s Pool. The dry season is the best time to visit as the water is calm, allowing tourists to swim in the pool with the guidance of a licensed tour operator. -Wet Season (Mid-January to July): During the wet season, the water levels rise significantly due to heavy rains, making it too dangerous to access Devil's Pool. As a result, the pool is closed to visitors during this time. Tour Details: Guided Tours: Access to Devil’s Pool is only possible through guided tours offered by local operators. The tours usually include a boat ride to Livingstone Island, a short hike, and the opportunity to swim in the pool. Tours typically run several times a day during the dry season. -Tour Duration:-The entire tour typically lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours, with the actual time spent in the pool being around 15-20 minutes, depending on group size and conditions. - Best Time September to December is often considered the optimal time to experience Devil’s Pool, as water levels are at their lowest, and weather conditions are generally favorable. If you’re planning to visit, it’s important to book in advance, as slots fill up quickly, especially during peak season. We have 3 slots a Day; Morning, Lunch, and High tea.
